Because Sometimes I Absolutely Have to Make a List

Painting:

  • Design & paint Stella Mora album cover
  • Commission from Seth
  • Design Jen & Jason’s kitchen mural
  • Gesso the new (giant) canvas
  • Purchase materials and build new canvases

Organization:

  • Get filing cabinet from Dave’s, buy/borrow/steal hanging files, sort through box of “really important paperwork” and file
  • Buy additional plastic storage boxes (el cheapo at Big Lots) to organize fabric, Christmas stuff, and whatever is lurking in those couple sad boxes in the basement
  • Locate and purchase cheapest possible industrial grade shelving, clean up basement, and install for storage of tools etc.  I’d like the basement to be suitable for sawing and sanding small projects (like building canvases) so I can be done with all this DUST.  I don’t care if people (namely, me) scribble all over my walls with a marker, or throw paint on my floor, I just don’t like this endless DUST.  Must. Make. Stop.
  • Install some hooks/shelving in the basement stairwell for cleaning supplies, possibly laundry hamper?
  • Buy and hang coat hooks by the back door

To Purchase Eventually:

  • New mirror for the bathroom - the old one fell and broke into a million kazillion pieces
  • Hall tree for front door?  If I can find something interesting/cheap
  • Hanging files
  • Storage boxes
  • New top for storage cabinets in the studio?
  • Shelving for basement
  • Coat hooks
  • Toaster oven
  • Bathroom mat
  • SEWING MACHINE
  • Cheap, probably used rug for a portion of the studio - something that can get dirty
  • Cutting mat
  • Opaque projector

Pending SEWING MACHINE Acquisition:

  • Cushion for metal chair
  • Cushion covers for window seat
  • Bolster pillow for sofa
  • The elusive Perfect Messenger bag

Other things:

  • Re-hang pictures in the living room
  • Paint the studio?  At least the trim around the door.  What to do with the plywood under the window seats?
  • Strip the window frame in the studio and what’s going on there.
  • Install weather stripping on doors and windows and window screens before fall.
  • Should I switch out the curtains in the front window?
  • Closet?
  • More bookshelves? (Could these be constructed from that old shelving in the basement?)
  • Hang third shelf in the kitchen?
  • Curtains for small windows?
  • Can my raw wood floors be oiled old-school like in that book of household hints I have that was written in 18-whatever?  Is such a product sold?  Research.  (Note to self: Yes, they sanded the floors in novels you read when you were 13, but this is really not a good idea.  Sand= scratchy dust.)
