last fm
So I’m not sure how I feel about it.
I forget I have it on, then realize that I’ve just announced to the world that the last song I listened to was “Taste It” by INXS. (This is actually Annie’s fault, since I was listening to her last fm station at the time, since she’s my only “friend” on the site and my “neighbors” appear to listen to a lot of Shakira. It’s also her fault that I did a spontaneous barefoot kitchen dance to that one song by Whitetown- you know, the only song by Whitetown- all misty eyed, reminiscing about this mix CD made by her older brother circa 19-ninety-something, which must be why it’s on her last fm in the first place. Hey, it wasn’t a cassette. Although, now that I think about it, that would be even better.)
But back to “Taste It.” What if I got hit by a bus before listening to any more music? Would it matter if the world was left thinking that I’m a big INXS fan?
And I can always remove a song from my profile, just in case of the bus scenario, but that seems a) silly and b) cheating and c) compulsive (similar to this entire thought process.)
Normal people keep thoughts like these to themselves, don’t they?
